In 2017, Lemon Street Market launched our first #GiveLocal campaign, partnering with six different community organizations to invite shoppers to “round up” at the register. We’re pleased to announce that in the past year, Lemon Street Market customers donated over $3,000.

Last year we partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster; ASSETS; Lancaster County Conservancy; United Way of Lancaster County; Clare House; and the Power Packs Project. Our 2018 #GiveLocal schedule with new community partners can be found on our website.

We learned a lot during our first year of the campaign, and will strive to do things even better the second time around. We’re hoping to share more information with the community about each partner organization, increase donations (customers are welcome to make additional donations at the register, in addition to rounding up to the nearest dollar), and continue to seek out partner groups that support the Lemon Street Market mission of cultivating food, health, and community.

In addition to the #GiveLocal campaign, Lemon Street Market frequently makes monetary and in-kind offerings to a variety of community organizations through sponsorships and donations. In 2017, we happily supported groups with donations worth approximately $5,000.

Thank you to all of our customers for supporting their local grocery store in 2017 and an extra special thanks to all who made donations to #GiveLocal. When you shop at Lemon Street Market, you support hundreds of local farmers and producers, keeping money in our local economy and helping food entrepreneurs support their families. Here’s to a great 2018!
